Puerto del Rosario Lighthouse

The Puerto del Rosario Light serves as the primary navigation aid for vessels approaching the port on the eastern coast of the island. It is strategically positioned between the Punta Martiño Lighthouse on the island of Lobos to the north and the Punta La Entallada Lighthouse in Tuineje to the south.

This lighthouse was inaugurated in 1992, as a key component of the third maritime lighting plan designed for the Canary Islands. Its primary purpose is to guide ships safely into port, especially during night-time or poor visibility conditions.

The light emitted by the Puerto del Rosario Light is visible from up to 20 nautical miles away, ensuring that mariners can easily identify their position relative to the coastline. Its distinctive light characteristic features a white flash every five seconds, making it easily distinguishable among other navigational signals in the area.
