The Sicasumbre astronomical viewpoint is situated on the left bank of the FV-605 highway, between kilometres 11 and 12, just past the small settlement of Fayagua. This viewpoint offers stunning vistas of the southwestern part of the island, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers and stargazers alike. With minimal light pollution, it provides an ideal setting for capturing breathtaking photographs of the night sky. One of the highlights of the site is a scale model of the solar system, which helps visitors identify the planets as they appear overhead. The area also features educational displays about the solstices and equinoxes, enriching the astronomical experience. Along the pathway, visitors can enjoy sculptures of goats, created by the renowned sculptor Juan Majorero Miguel Cubas. The path also leads to the iconic Fuerteventura sign, making it a popular spot for both sightseeing and learning about the island’s natural and cultural heritage.
