Details

This distinctive 30 m concrete tower, built in the 1980s, stands out with its white structure accented by red bands. It has a focal height of 35 m above sea level, ensuring it remains a prominent navigational aid. Its light can be seen for up to 14 nautical miles and emits a white flash every eight seconds.

The current lighthouse at this site is the third to operate on the promontory of Punta Tostón, also known locally as Punta de la Ballena. Over the years, it has served to guide maritime traffic safely past the rugged coastline.

For visitors, there is a self-guided walking trail that encircles the lighthouse, approximately 1 km in length. This pathway offers a scenic route to explore the area and enjoy views of the ocean.

Facilities at the site include ample car parking and a visitor cafe. However, please note that the cafe was closed during my last visit.
