Tindaya is a town in the municipality of La Oliva. The town is located in the middle of the Esquinzo Plain, 19 km from the island capital of Puerto del Rosario and about 7 km from La Oliva . It is a scattered hamlet on the slopes of the volcano of the same name. Tindaya Mountain is declared a natural monument for the scientific importance of its geomorphological structure, while being a point of cultural interest for its archaeological values, especially for the abundance of podomorphic petroglyphs and the sacred character given by the majos, the first pre-Hispanic settlers of the island.
