Pozo Negro is situated on the east coast of Fuerteventura, between Las Salinas and Gran Tarajal. It is unusual in Fuerteventura for its dark sand and black pebbles and unique for culminating in a wide and extensive valley. The valley is formed from a volcanic lava flow that was born thousands of years ago from the calderas of Liria and La Laguna located further inland. Pozo Negro beach is quiet, popular for its solitary and seaside atmosphere with very few tourists, there are a couple of cafes on the beach which is suitable for swimming. There is also a municipal camping area.
